Facebook Cover Image SampleCover photos used for both personal and business pages on Facebook are a fun way to express creativity, personal interests and promote business. Facebook has several guidelines that must be adhered or you run the risk of having your page suspended or shut down completed. Below is a list of information that you CANNOT include in a cover image.
  • Price or purchase information, such as "40% off," "Download it at our website," or "Free Sunglasses All Summer Long."
  • Contact information, such as web address, email, phone number or other information intended for your Page's About section.
  • References to user interface elements, such as Like or Share, or other Facebook site features.
  • Calls to action, such as "Get it now" or "Tell your friends."
Ideal cover photos are 851 pixels wide and 315 pixels tall. However, the image you upload must be at least 399 pixels wide. Should your image be smaller than these dimensions it will stretch to fit the cover image area possibly distorting or reducing the quality of your image. To get the fastest load times for your Page, upload an sRGB JPG file that's 851 pixels wide, 315 pixels tall and less than 100 kilobytes. For images with your logo or text-based content, you may get a higher quality result by using a PNG file. Download a PSD copy of our cover image template from our DropBox. More information about Facebook's cover image and Page guidelines can be found in their Help Center on Managing A Page.
